Shen Yueyue Stresses Promoting High-Quality Development of Family, Family Education and Family Traditions in New Era

A work conference to promote the building of family, family education and family traditions was held by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Office of the Spiritual Civilization Development Steering Commission of the CPC Central Committee and the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang Province, on November 28.

Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the ACWF, delivered a speech at the meeting.

Shen stressed further studying General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the building of family, family education and family traditions and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi's important instructions in every dimension of women's federations' work.

More targeted and concrete measures should be taken to promote the Family Happiness and Well-Being Campaign and the high-quality development of family, family education and family traditions, Shen said.

Shen urged promoting revolutionary traditions, building the family traditions of honesty and uprightness, transforming outdated customs, and cultivating civilized habits and consciousness of the rule of law.

Shen also called for efforts to strengthen the building of civilized families, guide parents to shoulder the responsibility of educating children, establish a system of family education guidance services in urban and rural areas, do practical work for women, and make new achievements in the building of family, family education and family traditions.

Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, presided over the meeting.

A total of 999 families were named as National Most Beautiful Family in 2021 at the meeting. Representatives of national civilized families and most beautiful families shared their stories.
