Rachel Brosnahan and Melissa McCarthy suit up for opening night of Broadway musical Suffs in NYC

Rachel Brosnahan and Melissa McCarthy both suited up to attend the opening night of Broadway musical Suffs (short for suffragettes), which was held at the Music Box Theatre in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday.

The 53-year-old Little Mermaid star just so happens to be an investor in the original play about the historical events leading up to the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution that gave women the right to vote.

The 33-year-old Emmy winner wore a brown pantsuit over a black crew-neck top, matching purse, and pointed-toe heels selected by stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn.

Hairstylist Danielle Priano coiffed Rachel's piecy updo and make-up artist Lisa Aharon made sure her alabaster complexion was ready for her close-up.

Brosnahan was joined on the purple carpet by her husband- Three Women actor Jason Ralph - looking dapper in a grey plaid suit over a white polo shirt and black loafers.

Since February, Rachel has been hard at work on set filming her role as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane in James Gunn's Superman reboot - hitting UK/US theaters July 11, 2025 - with David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

McCarthy will next portray Kellogg's employee Donna Stankowski in Jerry Seinfeld's feature directorial debut Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, which premieres May 3 on Netflix

Taub wrote, composed the music/lyrics, and made her Broadway debut as real-life suffragist Alice Paul who was jailed and suffered police brutality in her quest to successfully strategize the campaign for the 19th Amendment.

Leigh Silverman - who wore a sleeveless tuxedo top and metallic trousers - directed Suff, which began previews on March 26 and runs through September 1.
